Former Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Robert W. Redfield is an American physician and public health official. He served as the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from 2018 to 2021. Redfield has also worked as a researcher and professor at several universities, including Emory University and the University of Georgia. He has written several books on public health and has been a vocal advocate for vaccination and disease prevention. Redfield has received several awards for his work, including the National Academy of Medicine's Public Service Award.
