Roger Avary is an American screenwriter, film director, and actor. He is best known for writing the screenplay for the 1995 film Pulp Fiction, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Avary has also directed several films, including The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover and The Rules of Attraction. He is married to writer and producer Gala Avary.
