Medieval historian and chronicler
Roger of Howden was a medieval historian and chronicler who lived in the 12th century. He is best known for his work on the history of England, particularly his chronicle of the reign of King Richard I. He was a member of the royal court and had access to confidential information, which he used to write his histories. He was also a skilled diplomat and served as an ambassador to the Holy Roman Empire. He died in 1192 and was buried in the monastery of St. Albans. His works are still studied by historians today.
