American theologian and writer
Rousas John Rushdoony was an American theologian, writer, and pastor. He was a prominent figure in the Christian Reconstructionist movement and wrote extensively on theology, politics, and culture. Rushdoony was born in 1916 in Gary, Indiana, and died in 2001 in San Diego, California. He was a graduate of Wheaton College and earned his Ph.D. in theology from the University of Munich. Rushdoony was a prolific writer and published numerous books on theology, politics, and culture. He was also a pastor and served as the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Modesto, California. Rushdoony was a strong advocate for Christian Reconstructionism and believed that Christianity should be the foundation of society. He was also a critic of modern humanism and its perceived threats to traditional values and morality.
