Ruja Ignatova is a Bulgarian businesswoman who rose to prominence as the founder of OneCoin, a cryptocurrency that was touted as a rival to Bitcoin. However, the company was later revealed to be a massive Ponzi scheme, and Ignatova disappeared in 2017 as law enforcement closed in on her.
