Welsh saint and patron of Wales
Saint David was a 6th-century Welsh saint and bishop who is considered the patron saint of Wales. He was born in Pembrokeshire, Wales in the 5th or 6th century and died in Mynydd Mawr, Wales in the 6th century. David was a prominent figure in Welsh Christianity and was known for his piety and his role in the conversion of the Welsh people to Christianity. He was also a skilled leader and strategist who played a key role in the defense of Wales against the invading Saxons. Today, Saint David is remembered as a national hero in Wales and is celebrated on March 1st as Saint David's Day.
