Saint Gregory of Narek was a 10th-century Armenian monk, poet, and Doctor of the Church. He was born in 956 AD and died in 1010 AD. Gregory is best known for his 95 'conversations with God', known as the Book of Lamentations, which reveal his spiritual struggles and insights. He is revered as a saint in the Armenian Apostolic Church and is considered one of the greatest spiritual writers of the Middle Ages.
