Mother of Saint Augustine
Saint Monica was the mother of Saint Augustine and is widely regarded as one of the most important figures in Christian history. She was born in Tagaste, North Africa, and was educated in Rome and Milan. Monica was a devout Christian and played a significant role in her son's conversion to the faith. She is often depicted in art as a model of maternal love and devotion. Monica died in 387 AD, and was later canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church.
