Benedictine nun and saint
Saint Scholastica was a Benedictine nun and saint who lived in the 6th century. She is best known for her devotion to her brother Saint Benedict and her role in founding the Benedictine Order. Scholastica was born in Italy and spent most of her life in the monastery of Placenta, where she became known for her piety and her ability to heal the sick. She was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in the 10th century.
