Dominican friar and Catholic theologian
Saint Thomas Aquinas was a Dominican friar and Catholic theologian who lived in the 13th century. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest thinkers in Christian history. Aquinas was born in Italy and studied at the University of Naples. He later became a professor at the University of Paris, where he taught theology and philosophy. Aquinas is best known for his work on the Summa Theologiae, a comprehensive treatise on Catholic doctrine. He is also famous for his five proofs of the existence of God. Aquinas was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1323.
