Sal Albanese is an American politician and former member of the New York City Council. He served on the council from 2002 to 2013 and was a candidate for mayor of New York City in 2009. Albanese is known for his progressive views and has been a vocal advocate for ranked-choice voting. He is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and has a degree in political science.
