Sheila Steafel

Sheila Steafel is a South African-born British actress and singer. She studied drama at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began her career on stage and screen. Steafel is best known for her work on the BBC Radio 4 programme Desert Island Discs, where she has appeared as a guest several times. She has also had a successful career in music hall, opera, and theatre. Steafel is married to Roy Plomley and has been a prominent figure in British broadcasting for many years.
