Sias Hoffman

Sias Hoffman was a South African politician and historian who played a significant role in the development of the Orange Free State. He was the first president of the Orange Free State and signed the Bloemfontein Convention with the British in 1854. Hoffman was a skilled merchant and entrepreneur who overcame significant personal challenges, including a disabling accident. He was a fundamentalist voortrekker and a respected leader in his community. Hoffman's legacy continues to be studied by historians today.
