Ostrovsky has also worked as a correspondent for CNN and NPR. He has a master's degree in international relations from the University of Chicago. Ostrovsky is known for his in-depth reporting on the Middle East and Eastern Europe. He has won several awards for his reporting, including the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award. Ostrovsky is a native of New York City and speaks fluent Russian and Ukrainian.
