Historian and senior fellow at Hoover Institution
Sir Niall Ferguson is a Scottish-American historian who serves as the Milbank Family Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, and a senior fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University. Ferguson writes and lectures on international history, economic history, financial history and the history of the British Empire and American imperialism. He is the author of more than 16 books, including, ‘Empire: How Britain Made the Modern World’ (2003), ‘The Ascent of Money: A Financial History of the World’ (2008) and ‘Civilization: The West and the Rest’ (2011). Ferguson was born on April 15, 1964, in London, England. He earned his BA from Peterhouse, Cambridge, and his DPhil from Oxford University. Ferguson's work has been widely acclaimed and he is considered one of the leading historians of our time.
