Former President of Yugoslavia
Slobodan Milosevic was a Serbian politician who served as the President of Yugoslavia from 1989 to 1997. He was a key figure in the Yugoslav Wars and was later tried and convicted of war crimes at the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Milosevic was born in 1941 in Dvor, Yugoslavia, and studied law at the University of Belgrade. He rose to prominence in the Yugoslav Communist Party and became a leading figure in the country's politics. Milosevic was known for his authoritarian style and his efforts to unify Yugoslavia. He died in 2006 while on trial at the Hague.
