Professor of English and Comparative Literature
Srila Roy is an Indian-American academic and writer. She is Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Berkeley. Roy has written extensively on the politics of development, social movements, and the anthropology of the state. She is known for her work on the Subaltern Studies movement and its influence on contemporary India. Roy has taught at several universities, including the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Oxford. She has also worked as a researcher and consultant for various organizations, including the Ford Foundation. Roy is currently a professor at the University of California, Berkeley and has published several books on social anthropology and development studies.
