T.K. Whitaker was an Irish businessman and economist who played a key role in shaping Ireland's economic development in the 20th century. He was born in 1906 and served as the chairman of the Irish Industrial Development Authority. Whitaker was a key figure in the development of Ireland's economic infrastructure and was instrumental in attracting foreign investment to the country. He was also a strong advocate for social justice and was involved in various charitable organizations. Whitaker was knighted in 1975 for his services to industry and was awarded the Order of Merit in 1981. He died in 1991.
