Poet and playwright
T. S. Eliot was a British poet, playwright, and critic who is widely regarded as one of the most important poets of the 20th century. Born in 1888 in St. Louis, Missouri, Eliot was educated at Harvard University and later at Merton College, Oxford. He is best known for his modernist poetry, which explores themes of spirituality, disillusionment, and the search for meaning in a post-World War I world. Eliot's most famous work is probably 'The Waste Land', which is considered one of the greatest poems of the 20th century. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1948 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest poets of all time.
