Spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists
Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama, is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists. He was born in 1935 in Taktser, Tibet, and was recognized as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama at the age of two. The Dalai Lama has been a prominent advocate for Tibetan independence and human rights. He has received numerous awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize, for his efforts. The Dalai Lama has also written several books on Buddhism and Tibetan culture. He is based in Dharamsala, India.
