Teresa of Avila

Teresa of Avila was a Spanish Catholic mystic and writer who lived in the 16th century. She is best known for her spiritual writings, which include the 'Interior Castle' and 'The Book of the Soul'. Teresa was a member of the Carmelite order and was known for her deep spiritual insights and her ability to communicate with God. She was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1622 and is still widely revered today for her spiritual writings and her example of devotion to God. Teresa was born in Avila, Spain in 1515 and died in 1582.
