Terri Sewell is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Alabama's 7th congressional district since 2017. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Sewell was born in Montgomery, Alabama, and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She worked as a lawyer and a teacher before entering politics. She was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2016 and took office in 2017. Sewell is a strong advocate for women's rights and healthcare reform.
