Terry Pratchett

Terry Pratchett was a renowned British author, humorist, and screenwriter. He is best known for his Discworld series of fantasy novels. Pratchett was also a prolific writer of non-fiction books and essays, and was a prominent figure in British popular culture. He was awarded the Carnegie Medal and the National Book Award, among others. Pratchett was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2007 and passed away in 2015.
