Theodore John Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber, was an American domestic terrorist and former mathematics professor. He is known for carrying out a series of bombings that killed three people and injured 23 others over a period of nearly two decades. Kaczynski was born in 1942 in Illinois and grew up in a family of academics. He studied mathematics at the University of Michigan and later earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Kaczynski was a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, before he began his bombing campaign. He was arrested in 1996 and is currently serving a life sentence without parole. Kaczynski's motivations for his actions are complex and multifaceted, but he is widely regarded as a radical anti-technology activist. He is based in a federal prison in Colorado.
