South African administrator and politician
Theophilus Shepstone was a South African administrator and politician who played a key role in the annexation of the Transvaal. He was a member of the British colonial administration and was instrumental in the confederation of South Africa. Shepstone was also a key figure in the development of the Boer republics. He was known for his cunning and his ability to navigate the complex web of colonial politics. Shepstone is remembered as one of the most influential figures in South African history. He died in 1893 and is buried in the graveyard of the St. George's Church in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
