Thích Quảng Đức

Thích Quảng Đức (1926-1963) was a Vietnamese Buddhist monk who famously self-immolated in protest of the persecution of Buddhists in South Vietnam. He is considered a symbol of nonviolent resistance and a martyr for his faith.
