Thomas Halstead was a British trader and explorer who lived in the early 19th century. He arrived in Port Natal in 1825 and became a prominent figure in the settlement. Halstead was known for his bravery and his ability to navigate the complexities of colonial Africa. He played a key role in the early history of the Zulu Kingdom and was a close friend of Dingane, the Zulu king.
