Historian and author of historical non-fiction
Thomas Pakenham was a British historian and author known for his historical non-fiction books. He was a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a member of the Council of the Royal Historical Society. Pakenham was also a professor of history at the University of London and a visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley. He was the author of several books, including 'The Scramble for Africa: White Man's Conquest of the Dark Continent from 1876 to 1912' and 'The Boer War'. Pakenham was a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a member of the Council of the Royal Historical Society. He was also a member of the Order of the British Empire. Pakenham was based in London, England.
