Tiya Miles

Historian and author

Tiya Miles is a historian and author who has written extensively on the history of Black women and families. Her book, All That She Carried, tells the story of a single bag that has been passed down through three generations of Black women. Miles is a professor of history at the University of Michigan and has received several awards for her work, including a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship.
