Mary Mallon, known as Typhoid Mary, was an Irish-American cook who was diagnosed with typhoid fever multiple times. She was quarantined several times and eventually died in 1938. Mallon was a cook for several wealthy families in New York City and was responsible for spreading typhoid fever to many of them. She is considered one of the most infamous cases of asymptomatic carrier of a disease in history.
