Russian novelist and writer
Vasily Grossman was a Russian novelist, playwright, and screenwriter. He is best known for his novel 'Life and Fate', which is considered one of the greatest works of 20th-century literature. Grossman was born in Odessa, Ukraine, in 1905 and died in Moscow, Russia, in 1964. He was a member of the Soviet Writers' Union but became disillusioned with the Communist Party's ideology.
