Viktor Shaposhnikov

Viktor Shaposhnikov was a Soviet lieutenant colonel who commanded the 316th Rifle Division during World War II. He is best known for his role in the Battle of Stalingrad, where he played a key part in the Soviet victory. Shaposhnikov's experiences during the war were later immortalized in the novel by Vasily Grossman.
