Experienced maritime nurse and stewardess
Violet Jessop was an Argentine-born stewardess and nurse who worked for the White Star Line. She is best known for surviving two major maritime disasters: the sinking of the RMS Olympic in 1911 and the RMS Titanic in 1912. Jessop's survival of these disasters earned her the nickname 'Miss Insumergible'. She went on to work on the RMS Britannic, which also sank in 1916. After her maritime career, Jessop worked as a nurse and later as a hotel manager. She passed away in 1965 at the age of 97. Jessop's life and career have been the subject of several books and documentaries.
