W.W. Denslow was an American illustrator and cartoonist best known for his work on L. Frank Baum's children's books, particularly The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. He was born in New York City and began his career as an illustrator and cartoonist. Denslow's work on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is considered some of the most iconic and influential in the history of children's literature. He was a pioneer in the field of illustration and was one of the first artists to use color and texture in his work. Denslow died in 1915 at the age of 54.
