Founder of The Walt Disney Company
Walter Elias Disney was an American entrepreneur, animator, and filmmaker. He is best known for his influence in the field of entertainment, particularly in the development of animation and theme parks. Disney was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois. He developed an early interest in drawing and began selling his sketches to neighbors. In 1917, he joined the Red Cross Ambulance Corps during World War I. After the war, he moved to Kansas City, where he began his career as an animator. In 1920, he founded his first animation company, Laugh-O-Gram Studio. However, the company went bankrupt, and Disney moved to Los Angeles, where he founded The Walt Disney Company with his brother Roy. Disney is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in the history of entertainment. He won 26 Academy Awards and was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. Disney was also a pioneer in the development of theme parks, and his company, Walt Disney World, is one of the largest and most successful in the world.
