Walter Miller Jr. is an American science fiction author and professor emeritus at the University of California, Riverside. He is best known for his novel A Canticle for Leibowitz, which won the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1961. Miller has also written several other novels and short stories, and has been a prominent figure in the science fiction community.
