Physicist, Nobel laureate
Wigner János was a Hungarian-American physicist who made significant contributions to the development of quantum mechanics and nuclear physics. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1963 for his work on the theory of the perfect crystal lattice. Wigner was a professor at the University of Chicago and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was also a member of the National Academy of Sciences. Wigner was a pioneer in the field of quantum mechanics and his work laid the foundation for many subsequent discoveries.
