William Alexander Percy

William Alexander Percy was an American poet, politician, and member of the House of Percy. He was born in 1834 in Washington, D.C. Percy was a lifelong student of the Stoics and was deeply interested in philosophy. He was a member of the Democratic Party and served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1875 to 1877. Percy was also a poet and published several collections of his work. He was known for his writings on politics and philosophy. Percy died in 1891 at the age of 57.
