William Cullen Bryant was an American poet, journalist, and abolitionist. He was a prominent figure in the American literary scene and was known for his poetry and essays on politics and social issues. Bryant was also a strong advocate for the abolition of slavery and was involved in various social justice movements. He passed away in 1878.
