British writer and journalist
William Head was a British writer and journalist who wrote for The Times of London. He was known for his work on the Penny Dreadfuls, a series of cheap, sensational fiction publications. Head was also a prolific writer of short stories and novels, and was particularly known for his work on the theme of the supernatural. He was born in 1819 and died in 1897. Despite his prolific output, little is known about his personal life. He is best known for his work on the Penny Dreadfuls, and his contributions to the development of the horror genre.
