Wu Zetian

Wu Zetian was the only woman to ever rule China in her own right. Born in 624 AD, she rose to power through her marriage to Emperor Taizong of Tang and eventually became the empress. She is known for her intelligence, cunning, and ruthlessness. Wu Zetian's reign is often referred to as the "Golden Age" of the Tang Dynasty. She implemented various reforms, expanded the empire, and promoted Buddhism. She died in 705 AD, but her legacy continues to fascinate historians and scholars today.
