Yesenia Mejia Herrera

Yesenia Mejia Herrera is an interdisciplinary artist, activist, and educator originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. She is currently based in Baltimore. Herrera has worked on various projects that preserve and uplift Indigenous Latinx traditions. She is the founder of the CIELO initiative, which aims to promote cultural preservation and community building through art and education. Herrera has also been involved in various initiatives to promote arts education and community engagement in Baltimore. She is known for her work in the intersection of art, culture, and social justice.
