Yohanan Aharoni was an Israeli archaeologist and professor of archaeology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is best known for his excavations at the ancient city of Arad, where he uncovered several important archaeological sites. Aharoni was a prominent figure in the field of biblical archaeology and was known for his expertise in the history of the ancient Near East.
