Younis al-Sanwar
Palestinian militant and Hamas leader
Younis al-Sanwar is a Palestinian militant and one of the founders of Hamas. He was born in 1964 in the Gaza Strip and grew up in a poor family. Al-Sanwar was arrested by Israeli forces in 1988 and spent 23 years in prison before being released in 2011. He has been a key figure in Hamas and has been involved in various conflicts with Israel.
