Zachary Taylor

Zachary Taylor was an American military officer and politician who served as the 12th President of the United States. He was a career military officer who fought in the Black Hawk War and the Mexican-American War. Taylor was a prominent figure in the Whig Party and was elected president in 1848. He served for only 16 months before his death in 1850. Taylor is remembered for his military victories and his role in the expansion of the United States.
