Before AT&T business wireless, checking out customers on our mobile POS systems took too long. Basically a staring contest where everyone loses. It's crazy what people say during an awkward silence. Now transactions are done before the silence takes hold. That means I can focus on the task at hand and make an extra sale at two.

Sometimes I do miss the bonding time. Sometimes. AT&T business wireless, connecting changes everything. And Epic come from behind victory for the Colorado Avalanche over the Dallas Stars means there should be some pretty interesting three stars of the game. And there is for this one stay tuned locked on Avalanche, three stars coming at you. Your locked on Avalanche, your daily podcast on the Colorado Avalanche, part of the locked on podcast network, your team every day. All right, everybody welcome into our special episode of locked on Avalanche where we pick our three stars of the game. So yeah, something that we've been doing for a little while now. A few episodes in doing our special smaller segment, just a nice little fun, three stars

of the game, and usually not your typical three stars. Sometimes it happens that way, sometimes it does not, today does not, we had some fun with this one. So what we're going to do first, how we usually do it is throw out who the real three stars of the game were, we'll go through ours, and then we get our subtext people as well. They threw out their three stars too. So in this game, again, Avalanche win this one five before in a shootout over Dallas. And because it was a home game, someone in the Dallas media, whoever they want to pick to do these stars came up with these three. Number three, Miro Heaskinette. One goal, one assist, 31 minutes, 41 seconds of ice time, that's impressive. He's your number three star. I almost feel like, okay, a game of this magnitude and a game of this, this back and forth and, you know, how it played out. I think it kind of would be ashamed to not put any Dallas star on there.

So I, I, I am okay with it, and I at least appreciate that they put him at three and then try to bump him up to like number two or something like that. I'm okay with that. Number two, they went Nathan McKinnon, McKinnon, obviously, with the one goal, two assists for him. And their number one star of the game is Marty Natius, who had the one goal and three assists on the day. So, and this is interesting because of what we're going to come up with, you know, I think you look at Marty and say, yeah, four point game, that's number one star, absolutely. And I don't want to take away from him. And a goal in the shootout, which isn't the winner, but he does get the goal there, which sealed it. So, yeah, I mean, makes sense for him to be the one star, for sure. Exactly. So we did something similar where we have one Dallas star and two avalanche, none of them. None of those three. So I, we want to give a shout out to Nathan McKinnon and Marty Natius for the games that they

had because they were great games. Yeah, a four point game and you don't make our top three lists. You know, we're having fun with this thing, right? So give credit to Martin H's for an incredible four point game. Nathan McKinnon was incredible, three point game for him and Miro Hayeskinon, congratulations on your one goal and one assist, but you guys did not make our list. So we are going to start at number three. And number three for us might be the one and only time this ever happens. Jamie Ben, why Jamie Ben do you ask? Well, you, if you're listening to this podcast, you shouldn't be asking that question. Jamie Ben inexplicably thought he had a sure as can be empty netter and maybe played it a little bit too nonchalantly and it missed the net and the rest right now is history as the apps go tie it down the choose can ties it and then, you know, win it in a shootout.

But none of it would have been half would have been possible if not for Jamie Ben being lazy. And I love saying that out loud. We took, we talked about this on the main podcast about how that moment took like, okay, games over great game. We'll talk about how the apps lost because they're going to get this empty net goal to immediately flipping around the energy and being straight into positivity, excitement. We're going to tie this up. So yes, I believe Jamie star Jamie Ben does earn the third star for literally raising my hopes single handedly, single handedly resurrected them at the end of the game. It's almost like if you're a Dallas fan, I got to imagine when he missed that, you're immediately saying like that's going to come that they're going to tie it up now. Watch the avalanche tie it up now. And if you're on the avalanche side, you had hope that that's what exactly what would

happen. Because if that happened, if that was flipped, flipped around and that was Nathan McKinnon that did that or if that was, you know, McCarrer that did that, I would say like that is going to bite us. Yep. That's good. Enjoy it. Yeah. He has made him pay. You are now going to get, you know, the one moment that really lives in infamy with Jamie Ben and the avalanches when he gets knocked on his butt by Josh Manson in that fight. This is number two hundred percent. That fight was number one star. This moment is the Jamie Ben number two star. We're waiting for the number three star. So we'll see. There comes in the playoffs. We'll see. Thank you Jamie Ben. I never thought I would ever say that, but much appreciated the extra point. Number two, like we said, you know, with, with natious and McKinnon not being on our list. And I think the added bonus of him doing it against the team that just threw him to the

curb. That's why we're going with Val and the shoeskin as our number two star. You know, the added, the added bonus of doing it against your former team and a team that just gave up on you, you know, doing it with 13 seconds left and then going and getting a shoot out goal. Sometimes it's not all about the stats, the four point games, which are awesome. Sometimes it's about storylines and things like that. And that's why we're putting ballot number two. The clutch performance is what it's about. And that's why I think Val gets the number two because he also gets the double possible triple doinker on the shot earlier, only like a couple minutes earlier, too, that would have tied it up. Doesn't get that doesn't let it phase him clearly because he's still aggressive. He's playing really well against his former team. I thought he had an excellent game and he came up when it mattered the absolute most to

mean. That's worthy of the two star. Absolutely. Absolutely. So, and you feel good for him because it's been a little bit of a rough go for him recently, especially coming out of the Olympic break, wasn't really tearing it up before it either. But this game, and I said it in the regular podcast episode, he just seems to get up when he plays Dallas and I completely understand that. I would too. I would too. So, maybe that's what he needed to get him jump started and kick back into gear for the rest of the season and into the playoffs, but that's fine with me. If he just needs to play Dallas to get a little pep in his step, okay, let's schedule Dallas then. So, he was good. He was good. And he was before him. Yep. All right. Let's get our break in. We come back. We'll see our number one star and you're with the people of Subtext had to say as well.

So, we'll do that next. All right. We got Fandall College basketballs nonstop big games tight spreads momentum swings every single night. Really tip off to late night, West Coast shootouts. And every sale happens at the register before AT&T business wireless checking out customers

on our mobile POS systems took too long basically a staring contest where everyone loses. It's crazy what people say during an awkward silence. Now transactions are done before the silence takes hold that means I can focus on the task at hand and make an extra sale or two. Sometimes I do miss the bonding time sometimes AT&T business wireless connecting changes everything. All right, let's get our first star of the game for this one. And if you're sitting there like, well, it's not Marty, it's not Nate, it's not Val. Who could it be? Well, it's a guy that didn't play the entire game. But when he came in, this is exactly what you want your backup goalie to do when he comes in when your starter is struggling. Yes, stop the bleeding and Scott Wedgewood did that. So in a game of this magnitude, again, if it wasn't Dallas and it wasn't like the keeping

your lead on the line, not that you were going to lose your number one spot in the central, but it shrinks. Right? It shrinks if Dallas wins this thing in regulation and they were on their way to do that because of the everything on the line for this game, for Scott Wedgewood to come in and just shut the door on Dallas, he gets my number one star. This is just a regular game and he came in where Blackwood's playing poor and if it was against, I don't know, the flyers or something like that. We'd give Scott Wedgewood some stick taps and be like, great job keeping the score where it was. But the added bonus of Dallas, you get my number one star. Exactly. That same reason that we said for Val clutch, he comes in, he plays, doesn't let up a single goal. When you say, stop the bleeding, he completely stopped it. That was like, not even tourniquet.

That's what like, cauterizing the wound, it was done. There's nothing left to be happening. He played excellent. And then once you get to the shoot out, where the abs have not been great this year, they just have not. And he makes two huge impressive saves to stop both Robertson and Matt Dushane. Those are not slouches that you're facing shots against and he makes amazing saves to stop him. Keep you in this, keep you in the shoot out there at that point and allow Val and Marty to put it away. So this is, this is a great performance from him. Dallas's pads are just so cool that I always want him to be a star. Yeah. They are so much better than the blue, great, great moment for him to come in and shut the door. So loved it. All right. Let's hear what our subtext people have to say. And we'll go right to Adam.

Adam, his number one star is Val. He put Val at number one. So got to love that says, I like that he gained all his confidence back overnight. What a move in the shoot out as well. And he talks about his potential, the potential trade rumors. You know what I mean? Like, I'm sure he heard that. So you don't obviously get traded. You come back and you do that. So number two, he put Marty Nachos, credibly dynamic out there tonight, great four point game from him. Number three, I love this. This is what I want from our subtext people. He put Chris McFarland in for his number three star. Love it. God, I love that. I still can't believe they could make the trade for cadre in the eleventh hour today. So he deserves some kudos for his work. Well done. I love that. I love it. Honorable mention, he gives McKinnon and McCarr, amazing stuff and a physical Roscoe, which we talked about in the regular lockdown, but I love it.

Yes, give, give Chris McFarland some love, you have to love that. So let's see, K, third star, Martin Nachos, four point game. Dude is on fire. Can't wait to see him in the playoffs. Second star Scott Wedgwood, fantastic coming in cold, make some huge saves, reading Robertson and Dushan perfectly in the shootouts and Val. Number one, game tie and goal, that's her first star of the game. Excellent. Yeah. All right. I'm proud with that. Let's see. We got some more here. I think Matt says first star is Wedgwood, came in cold, shut down the stars, two massive saves in the shootout, second star Val grinding it out, hitting 150th goal. Yeah. Finally, starting the shootout, third star, Martin Nachos set up for the game tie and goal and the game sealer in the shootouts.

There you go. Excellent. Who else we got here? Bears got Marty party at number three, two, two, train at number two and Wedgwood at number one. Let's see who else we got here. Devon's got Devon Taves at number three. Okay. He had a pretty solid game, I thought. He did. Remember that one play where he just completely whiffed on the puck? Yes. It was just a simple zone exit and he whiffed and that moment we were talking about with Jamie Ben, we're like, oh god, here, you know, if you're a star saying you're like, how's it going to tie it up when, when Taves whiffed on that puck and Dallas just took it over and like, okay, here comes a goal and it's going to be on a just simple one-to-one pass that didn't go anywhere, luckily it didn't, but hey, if you want to put Towsett, Taves

are at number three. Go ahead. So yeah, Wedgied one, Val two and Devon Taves, number three for him. So I like it. There you go. All right. So that's going to wrap up the three stars of the game. Who do you got? Throw them in the comments section. You can see how we do this. It doesn't have to be just points related, whatever you want to do, throw it up there. So any last words from Mr. Zach Pearson today? I don't think so. Still can't believe that we're catching your breath. It's grateful to, yeah, I mean, there's that for the day just I know. This was a good day. It was a fun day, and I'm glad it's now Saturday, so you can just like relax and just take all that in. So just, yep, enjoy it. Enjoy it. We'll be back on Monday. So thanks everybody for tuning in to the three stars episode, enjoy the weekend, enjoy the gaming against the wild, and we'll be talking about that on Monday.
