663. The Trinity Now a Minority Belief in America (Dustin Smith)

 

Are you under the impression that everyone believes in the Trinity? Most denominational creeds, seminary requirements, and church statements of faith begin with a confession that there is one God who exists in three persons. Perhaps you think that this means that American pastors believe in the Trinity and they faithfully teach it to their congregations.

If so, you would be wrong.

Today my guest is biblical studies scholar, Dr. Dustin R. Smith of Spartanburg Methodist College in South Carolina. He presents the shocking truth based on three independent surveys about American belief in the Trinity.

The results are in. Belief in the Trinity is now a minority position in the United States, both among Americans in general and among those who attend church.
