And when you bang out 14 hits and score nine runs, you figure your team, in this case, the Cincinnati Reds,

4:11have a great chance to win. But that wasn't the case tonight at American Family Field in Milwaukee. The Brewers deliver baseball death by a thousand cuts. And that's why they are the best team in Major League Baseball with the best record at 93 and 56, 37 games over 500. In the first five games of this six game road trip to Los Angeles and Milwaukee, the Reds are 0 and 5 and they've been outscored 56 to 15, including 47 to 10 in the last three games. 14 to 1 to the Dodgers on Wednesday, 20 to nothing to the Brewers last night and 13 to 9 to 9. The Brewers hit three home runs, Bryce Tarrang and Garrett Mitchell delivered a pair of two run shots in the first inning off Brady Sanger and the big blow came in the fourth inning when William Contraris crushed a three run home runs,

5:13snapping a five all tie and giving the Brewers an eight to five lead, it would not lose. The Brewers unleashed five more runs off Graham Ashcraft in the fifth inning. The Reds showed some moxie with four runs in the eighth, but there's a hole in the Reds lineup that continues to cross them and continues to haunt them. And it's third baseman, Kebrian Hayes with the score 13 to 9. The Reds scored four runs, load the bases with nobody out and it's like the voice of the Reds Tommy Thrall basically called it. He said the worst case scenario would be a double play and that's what happened with Kebrian Hayes. A weak ground ball to third base, five to four to three, two quick outs and Dan Myers with the line out to center field.

6:14And basically at that point game over. 13 runs, 14 hits, no errors for the Brewers once again, 93 and 56, nine runs, 14 hits, one error for the Reds who fall to 69 and 79. And in these last three games, the Reds have been outscored 47 to 10. They've been out hit 51 to 22 and they've been forced to use six pitchers in each of those three games against the Dodgers last night against the Brewers and tonight. And speaking of last night's game, that 20 to nothing lost in the Brewers September 11 last night was the largest shutout loss in the first half. In the franchises, long and storied history, unbelievable.

And the Reds have been outscored 56 to 15, including 47 to 10 in the last three games when they've used six pictures. Three consecutive nights and take away Brady Singer and Graham Ashcraft. The bullpen did just fine with Pierce Johnson Tony Santillon and TJ Antone and who's and Emilio Pagan. But it was a singer and Ashcraft. It just got the lit up Brady Singer only went four innings eight hits eight runs all earned five walks five strikeouts three home runs. His ERAs at 5.38 and Graham Ashcraft only pitched one third of an inning six hits five runs all earned a walk a strikeout his ERAs at 4.91.

16:49I'm asking fans out there what should the Reds do with key Brian Hayes. They only owe him $23 million and you continue to play him and then cut him loose at the end of the season. I'll tell you a bright spot for the reds tonight and he was filling in for another hole in the lineup in Matt McLean. It's a one breeto at second base. He had three hits in this game including a monstrous home run and so that Tito Franco to the manager was asked about him after the game and he said the guys a ball player.

18:56And the Cleveland guardians. D F A D H M and then worked out a trade with the reds in early August for one breeto for cash considerations and he just might be the kind of guy who is awful in the miners can't hit a lick but then coming up to the majors. He's batting 229 compared to some others that feels like 300 but one breeto is showing that he deserves some more playing time at second base in place of Matt McLean. Jackson Cheerio walks in the bottom of the first inning and then Bryce Tarang crushes his 19th home run of the year to center field a 400 foot shot on a three and two pitch a 90 point two mile an hour sinker just like that it's too to nothing brewers. And then with two outs William Contreras walks and the brewers make Brady singer pay Garrett Mitchell comes to the plate and belts his 11th home run of the year that was to right center making it for to nothing and that was a monstrous 425 foot upper deck shot a one in one pitch an 82.1 mile an hour sweeper so in the first inning it's 4 to nothing and I'm starting to think.

21:11Could this be another 20 to nothing rubbing like last night. The reds went scoreless in the final five innings at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday night shut out last night no runs in nine innings and didn't score in the first so that was 15 consecutive innings that the reds did not score well that changed in the second inning when a you hang you swore as. It is 400 and two foot shot on a one in two pitch an 81.7 mile an hour curve ball is 23rd home run of the year that was the left center field giving the putting the reds on the board at 4 to 1. And then Brady singer escapes problems in the second inning the bases were loaded and Jake Bauer strikes out swinging and then Christian Yellich lines out to Dane Myers and center field so. The reds dodged a bullet there in the second the reds get another run back in the third inning making it 4 to 2 with two outs Dane Myers singles and then

La Cruz doubles his 27th double of the year and the reds are within 4 to 2 and then Milwaukee gets that run back in the bottom of the third with one out here at Mitchell singles and with two outs Mitchell steel second and then scores on Cooper Pratt single to center field it's 5 to 2 that's what the brewers do they are absolutely absolutely relentless and yes they hit three home runs tonight but like I said at the top of the show they delivered death by a thousand cuts they just they are absolutely relentless. A 386 foot shot that turned the tide here eight to five in favor of the Brewers and then Milwaukee showed exactly who it is in the fifth inning against Graham Ashcraft when Cooper Pratt led off with a single and then one out with one out later. Jackson Cheerio Bryce Tarrang Jake Bowers and Christian Yellich all singled forced right there and then William Contreras was intentionally walked and then Garrett Mitchell came through with a two run double making it 13 to five. They are on some kind of heater right now. I think Tommy and Chris Welsh mentioned it last night. I hope it's not true, but they wondered if the Brewers were somehow like they knew what pitches were coming out because they were just. They were just like wearing every ball up and so you just you don't see especially in today's baseball. You don't see teams hit like this anymore. Gosh five singles. They're in the fifth inning and they go on to score a five runs. Yeah, and most of them were opposite way. I believe.

46:25They get through the infield or their flares or they just do so many things right and the reds do a bunch of things wrong. Yeah, and I obviously like college football. I'm not a Buckeye fan, but I was what I let me the whole red game before I switched over to the Ohio. And wow, what a what a finish that thing was. Yeah, it really was. I thought that game was over. Yeah, I think a lot of Buckeye fans thought so too. They had a chance to step on their throat and they didn't and 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Well, good for archman. That's so pretty. And that's so tricky. And we see it in college. And pro football. I mean, you don't want to you got a more than one score lead in the fourth quarter. You don't want to risk a bunch of passes and take chances and the foot side is you get a little bit conservative and that can come back and bite you. Yeah, you don't want to obviously have a big turnover and get the other team a quick quick chance to get them back in. But obviously if the kick kicks the 45 yard field goal game over, I ain't talking about it.

47:34Game was over at that point. And then you had a couple of other chances to I thought the big play in the fourth quarter was the I think it was their Texas second touchdown driver who was fourth and sixth from like the Texas 30. They were on the other side of the field and they went for it on fourth down. And I thought, man, this is the game right here. Yes, they don't get it Ohio State's until go range. The game's pretty much over at that point. They got it. Yeah, you risk things like that. They check sure we have a couple more weeks of baseball and then we'll we'll round her up and see what we can do next year. Absolutely. It's it's been one of those seasons, man. A lot of Reds extra innings on weekends and rain hijacked my you know hijacked the Kelsey Chevrolet extraening show several times. Dodger the rain drops on weekends, but it's been crazy. It really has. And I'm a big I'm a big base ball fan. I'm a big red fan. When losing the ball, I'm going to stay with them.

48:40And I really enjoy having you in on extra innings on the weekends and get your perspective and it would be nice to be in the playoffs and all that. But it's just that's why it's sports. You have to earn your way to those playoffs spots and we're just not good enough right now. And hopefully we can get things turned around. Once again, four innings eight hits. All eight runs on eight hits all earned five walks, five strikeouts at three home runs against Brady Singer and Graham Ashcraft. Just one third of an inning there in the fifth six hits five runs all earned a walk and a strikeout. And just just brutal here.
