I'm Haya Punjwani with an AP News Minute. US gas prices jumped past an average of $4 a
gallon for the first time since 2022. That's as fuel prices continue to soar worldwide.
The last time US drivers were collectively playing this much at the pump was nearly four years
ago following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Petroleum analyst Patrick Duhon with gas
buddy says the rising gas prices is adding up for Americans.
That has added up to over $8 billion over the last 30 days that Americans have spent
beyond what they were spending prior to the US attack in Iran and what that means is not
only Americans leaving more behind at the pump, but they're also seeing the rise in prices,
the feeling, the oppression brought on by gasoline prices at their highest levels in
multiple years, which impacts negatively the psyche of the US consumer. I would look for US
consumer sentiment to decline as gas prices go up. The Supreme Court ruled against a law
banning conversion therapy for LGBTQ plus kids in Colorado. I'm Haya Punjwani.
