Hello everyone chose what's here welcome back to inside arsenal it is Thursday
I hope you're having a good one where you're watching or listening to this around well
thank you as always for joining me the weekend is very nearly here the cup final on Sunday draws
ever close at the Champions League. Now in the rearview mirror all eyes turn to Wembley. So we're
going to talk about that in today's show lots for us to discuss. Michaela Tetris doing his
pre-match press conference ahead of the final tomorrow at London Colony. I'll be there for that one
should be some interesting stuff from the Arsenal manager. He certainly got some big decisions
to make ahead of the final going to look at those or some of those in today's show the
goal keeping situation that's going to be a big big debate I think over the next few days
what's he going to do up front. Who's going to play it right back if you're in timber
doesn't make it so we'll discuss all of those in today's show look what Kep has been having
to say ahead of the final he's been talking certainly sounds like a goalkeeper who is expecting
to start that final. So look what he's had to say round up the Champions League that
should have got comments and questions from you guys of course as well to get stuck into myself
and James Benj will be sitting down will hopefully fingers crossed will be sitting down a little
bit later on today it's a little bit up in the air because there's some stuff going home
home it's my son's birthday then and I'm going to be running around all over the place doing
some stuff but hopefully going to find some time a little bit later on today to record inside
Arsenal extra time so you want any questions you want any comments opinions for us to discuss
in that show do as always get down into the comments start with extra time leave your comment
your question and I'll pull some of those together and get them included in the show a little
bit later on this afternoon right we just sort of round up the the action from the Champions League
last night the quarterfinals are now setting stone we know what they're going to be it's going to be
PSG versus Liverpool obviously a repeat of last season when PSG not Liverpool out that was in
around the 16 and then we got rumoured to reverse it by a minute one again that is we've got
it all Spanish affair Barcelona versus Athletica Madrid and we got sporting versus Arsenal of course
win that they get past sporting then they will play the winners of Barça versus Athletic in the semi
final so big results yesterday the English clubs taking a bit of a hammer in well certainly
Newcastle taking a bit of a hammer in anyway Liverpool to be fair so I'm dished out a hammering
of their own to Galatasaray win four-nil in that game I don't have a field to set up that spot
with that PSG game in the court finally a Newcastle absolutely battered by Newcastle by Barcelona
in the second half first off was well that whole game was crazy first off was a mad game
Newcastle to be fair so held their own really dangerous on the counter attack
causing Barça in that highlight all sorts of problems and I said it half time I mean they
conceded that goal the penalty stupid from um uh Kieran and Trippia lucky not to get sent off
I thought um but right on half time he gave that penalty away and that made that gave Barça
3-2 lead going into half time and I think that was obviously a real real crucial moment
if Newcastle got in at 2-2 I think they had every chance because they just had to do nothing
to stop doing stupid things defensively I said that at half time and what did they do in a second
after they did so many stupid things defensively and just let Barça cut through them at Barça
were very good technically very good and they were ruthless and they put Newcastle to sword but
Newcastle really really didn't do much to help themselves in the way they defended that game
so they took a battery we had lots and lots of sort of reaction after the two rounds of
fixtures this week and the results and the English clubs coming out it's in Tottenham done by
Athletic Home of Dread they won this day 3-2 but still obviously went out after the 5-2 to
the feet of the Newcastle we talked about got hammered city got done over comfortably Chelsea got
absolutely spanked by PSG he's been lots of talk about the English quality the Premier League
quality all that sort of stuff the lack of attacking intent or lack of attacking quality in the
Premier League compared to the big 4 it elsewhere in Europe and I get that I sort of get that
I also kind of feel like it's just it's very and I mean this is a wider thing in football certainly
in how things are analysed I always I do think it's very sort of results based analysis that
because when you kind of look at it a little bit wider look at the wider picture you know
Arsenal went to Real Madrid last season with Michele Moreno up front home and away and beat him
5-1 so there was no issues there we've got with attacking quality there against one of the best
teams in Europe and the biggest teams in Europe possible absolutely hammered him a midfielder
up front and Real Madrid had everyone that day they had a bell in them they had
vicious they had in Bappé an Arsenal comfortably done them over 2 legs this season Arsenal beat
and by Munich 3-1 they've been out of lead coach 4-0 they've been into Milan at San
Ciro last season's finalists 3-1 so there was no issues with attacking talent there or attacking
quality there from a Premier League team I just think these these this round of fixtures I just
think Premier teams have played badly I just think it's as simple as that they've been really
really poor they've been punished by good teams very good attacking talent but I don't think it really
I'm not sure it kind of deserves the scrutiny it's getting or the analysis getting in terms of
what it means for the Premier League and where the quality is with the Premier League I just kind
of feel this little bit results based analysis just just my view that's just my view anyway but
certainly Arsenal flying the flag in Europe as they are in the Premier League at the moment but
Liverpool should be fair so I'm still there now and they face a very very tough game against PSG
next time out right let's focus on the final now shall we sort of team news wise what we're
expecting for the final see there's no mark gay he from Manchester City we know that he is
ineligible in eligible to play in that game because of the time in that he was signed
number four the second leg of the semi final so he can't play so menu can but gay he can't play
we know that there's no Guadiolpa for City Rico Lewis came back I think in a rumored
rig game so he's going to be involved in the squad you would think Pep used that game and because
of the nature of it in the score line and how things would go in he used a second off to take
a lot of his players off to give him some rest ahead of the final Harlan came off relatively early
I think Rotary came off with sort of 15-20 minutes to go in that game there are a few other
substitutions as well so Pep used the opportunity knew that they were going out so he used the opportunity
to get some rest in terms of Arsenal obviously the big hope is my no to guard canny baked me back in time
he's been focusing on getting back for this final but I think there's no chance whatever happens
he's going to start the game obviously I think he would have needed to play at least some minutes
either of the last two games to have any chance to start in the game and the fact is there's been
fantastic in that position of late and he's definitely going to start but you still want
Ode to guard involved you want him to squad you know be a big boost to have the captain back in the
squad so he's been working towards this trying to get himself fit I tetas said that he was going
to be coming back to training this week and then it was just going to be a case of how the knee fell
how what sort of reaction there was to the injury in terms of whether he would make the squad
or not so the hope is that Ode to guard will be available but we'll have to wait and see on Sunday
and that again late sort of checks on your intember after the injury that he picked up against Devaton
will he be fit or not that's it he's a big doubt for the game if he does if he doesn't make it who
starts it right back I think that's certainly at some debate at the moment but that's the latest
early team news that we have on the on the cup final from both sides Ode to guard certainly the
hope for Arsenal is that he might be able to make it so look a few lots of you are actually in
response we're getting into the comments yesterday talking about the final and what he should do like
posh you hear us what would your lineup be for the final iris good or us just looking ahead to
Sunday I know Kepper has been our keeper for the carrow cup but don't you think we need to start
ryer ryer saved us a lot this season's big game player I think the game is vital in a sense to
win in the carrow cup but also getting that into a java city so this is going to be a big debate
a huge debate I think I've already seen in the comments from just a few sort of throwaway comments
I made yesterday I've seen in the comments to that video you know how split it is how divided it
is on on who should start in goal you know I made my view pretty clear I think ryer should start
this game I think it's mad and it's really not to start that midrider you're in a cup final with
weight it's six years to get back to a cup final haven't won anything with this group you play
your best team you win that you would you go all out to win the cup Kepper is a very good goalkeeper
and it was an excellent sign in at a really good deal and it's a fine number two and yes I know
he'll be disappointed if he doesn't play the final I'm not sure that needs to be the top of a
keller tetas thinking no and this is just a personal opinion and I know lots of you disagree with it
but for me I don't think you need to worry about upsetting Kepper too much you just need to worry
about winning the cup final you know to get this far to get to the final and to lose we really
really disappoint in who knows what it will mean for the rest of the season
so you want to do all you can to avoid that look you can play david ryer and you can still lose
you can play david ryer and you can make a big mistake you can Manchester City can win and
obviously there's going to be a lot of reactions to that but I still think from the sort of
averages point of view percentage is point of view if you play your better goalkeeper in goal
for a cup final you've probably got a better chance of winning or not even probably you do have a
better chance of winning from a percentage is point of view now there's a reason why david ryer
is number one and kepper is number two so for me I don't even think it should be a debate I just
think I just think you played david ryer in goal it'll be interesting to see what pep does obviously
does he played donna rumour does he play trafford I mean can you imagine if he if he if he plays donna
rumour goes with his first choice keeper arsenal play kepper and that move backfires the sort of
reaction they'll be to that I mean it's all hypothetical I know kepper has been talking about
the final and he certainly sounds like a keeper who expects to play I do think he'll play by the
way I think i'll take a will go with kepper I've been sort of i'm in an arm in about it and going
back and forth but I think I've come to the conclusion that I think he'll he will continue to keep
his faith in kepper and reward him for the performances that he's played and if he's done that
fine he's a manager he makes a decision just just my personal view is that I would go with ryer
but yeah kepper's been talking about it and he says the atmosphere at wembley is so special everything
around the game is special the buildup you know you're out there playing for a title and right now in
this moment of football every title is so difficult to get you know you're one game away from being
able to lift the trophy obviously it's going to be a tough game a very difficult game but we'll go
for it I have played in a league cup final before and I've played many finals in my career I've been
lucky in that way so I will just approach the game the best way I can we will prepare everything in
the best because at the end the aim is to win just focus on the game focus on the pre game focus
on us prepare for the opponent that is it don't think we need to approach anything differently so
that's what kepper has been saying about the final certainly there we're saying that I'll approach
again the best I can he sounds like a player he expects to play and I'm sure he will expect to play
and I don't think I'll tend to would have probably pulled either of the goalkeepers yet and
and explained who's going to start but like I said I think he will probably go with kepper that's
where I'm sort of leaning towards at the moment but from my point of view I don't know I just think
you go with I go you go with David Row in my view your best goalkeeper yeah I don't I don't even
think it's a particularly hard decision but just my opinion obviously on it and those two they get
on very very well really well and whatever the decision is I'll tell you it's going to make the
other one will support the other one on the day you'll see that you know if it is kepper who starts
in gold David Row will do everything he can to help prepare him in the best possible way and if
if you you know if possible gone on win the trophy and kepper has a good day the first person
who will be out there celebrating with kepper will be David right there's no doubt about that gold
keeping unit is very very tight with a knacket canner as well and that's a really really positive
thing so we'll see we'll see let me know your views I know you will let me know your views anyway
in the comments below we'll sort of I'll probably pull some of those together and get them
included in tomorrow's shows we continue this conversation and this debate as we get towards the
final so let me know your thoughts on that in terms of what else he's sort of got to decide on
Michaela I think certainly at front will be a decision I think you'll probably go with Havarts
I was certain he was going to go with Havarts as a striker before the Labor Cousin game but I did
think Yoko is had a good performance a really good performance as a central striker against
Labor Cousin and maybe maybe that'll sort of play into Michaela's thinking a little bit but
personally I would I would be very surprised I think if he doesn't go with Havarts in this game
Ezerel playing as a ten I'm sure of that sacra will be on the right there's a decision to make on
the left hand side I think Trosad will probably get the nod from the start on that one I thought he
had a very good game Trosad against Labor Cousin he was a little bit rusty at times but on the whole
he was very good he was a threat he got shots away I think he would have done enough to play himself
into the into the 11 for the final but yeah I think he'll probably go with Havarts but Yoko is
certainly giving him something to think about I would say with his performance in midweek and then
what you do at right back if if you're in Timber's not there personally for me hope I want him to
play Ben White I have to say but obviously Mascara does come into the equation on that we've seen him
used ahead of Ben White you know just last week in a game against Everton when Timber picked up
the injury it was it was Mascara who came on but I thought white looked good against Labor Cousin
and look fit look strong so for me I'd be playing Ben White and I think that would get more
out of Havarts Sacker as well down that right hand side so let me know your thoughts on all of
those sort of decisions facing in Kela Teta what you would do what you think he should do when it
comes to those big decisions let me know in the comments below. Do you want your soccer analysis

Okay moving on some of your comments and questions now before we wrap this one up for this
morning Tim was listening to the press part show which goes out for exclusively fit and
sign Arsenal patron members each week myself standing in a telegraph and Simon Collins of the
the sun we're having a big old debate yesterday on the press parts over sort of goal of the season
we're a sort of disagreeing and sand team is very much of the opinion the max downwards goal
against Everton is Arsenal goal of the season so far of which I very much disagree I think
Arsenal's goal of the season so far is as as goal in midweek I also think matter way kids go against
against Bruce was better as well so we had a big sort of and I agree I think Max Downman's
moment against Everton is the moment of the season so far without a shadow ever doubt it's my
favorite ever Emirates moment but for me that doesn't make it goal of the season I think what we
saw from Ezra the nature of the goal the touch to strike the technique everything about it the power
was just blew me away that goal like genuinely took my breath away and the moment for Max Downman
did the same but I don't think that means it's goal of the season so that was the big debate we
had on the press parts yesterday Tim has got in touch on this he says I wondered if we are mixing up
best goal with moment in 22-23 the moment everyone remembers his Nelson's winner against
Bournemouth sack of strike against you know I had that season with the best goal but it's
remembered much less so for this season is Downman's goal already the moment at the campaign even if
Ezra's by a goal Martin Elevers is city Zuby versus Forestman away key versus Bruce ends up as
the best finish yeah look who knows we'll see what we'll see what other moments we've got
ahead of us between now and the end of the season there's plenty of time for some other big big
moments you know from actual real you know definitive title winning moments of course hopefully we
get one of those this season or a cup final winning moments something like that but for now
undoubtedly in my mind Downman's goal is the moment of the season you know I've not the
moment the atmosphere the emotion the noise everything about it the quality of the goal because it
was a top quality goal the fact he was maxed down when all of that mixed together you know it was
a moment of the season 100 percent but yeah I do I do think that's different to goal of the season
I think you have to consider the two a little bit differently if you see what I mean but yeah if
you want to hit sit watch the press pass show and you're not member yet to inside answer you can
sign up link is down below sign up become a member support the channel access to exclusive shows
like the press pass like the fpl show and do match day vlogs now they're going out to
international patreon members after the games as well so you want to get involved in all that sort
of stuff then please do sign up become a member and support the channel it would be very much
appreciated right we've got one from John now so Charles you're right about is it being a
talisman type of player it has some games where he deserves not to show up but sorry it has some
games where he does not show up but can turn things around in a blink of an eye do you think
right deserves player of the season for us but I feel we've been one of the most consistent players
for us and has made some good game saving saves throughout the season thoughtfully it's definitely
in the conversation there's no doubt about that has to be in the conversation it's been unbelievable
this season David Ryan is highlight reel of saves throughout the season incredible and I think
the top three in player of the season are wind up being Raya Gabrielle and Rice but it's just about
the sort of the order that those three are going to be in look there could be some big big moments
between now and the end of the season still to come that sort of shape that order and play a big
big part in that but I think that will be the top three I think for me I think for me Gabrielle
is going to is so far player of the season I think Rice is right up there and I think as I said
Ryan needs to be in the conversation I just think Gabrielle what he's done at both ends of the
pitch for Arsenal this season the unbelievable defensive record have got the goals he scored at the
other end of the threat he is at set pieces you know how much of a fact and that has been to Arsenal
success this season for me if we would if we were voting right now I think my vote would go to Gabrielle
but it's going to be really really tight I think and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being
being Declan Rice but yeah David Raya absolutely should be in the running for that no doubt about it
we've got one from her Sonic looks like now says there's city out the Champions League what do you
think of the schedule for Arsenal in the last two months after the international break I feel
we need elements of luck if we want to compete on multiple fronts city dropping points at Chelsea
on April the 12th and also Arsenal going there and getting a positive result with the FD had
with all but guaranteed the Premier League huh don't say that yet assuming city dropped four points
and we game four points within our home game against Bournemouth and Dora McSity we will have
an 11 point gap with five matches to go mind you before them we're going to have to go to the FA
camp got sport in sandwich between Bournemouth and city we need to utilize our full squad my only
concern could be that Rice Gabrielle and Saliba are the three players who seem not to have capable
substitute and might be played in almost every game look it is going to be incredibly difficult the
schedule is going to be incredibly demanding absolutely but Arsenal we've got a big squad our
tetanese to use it right absolutely easier but it's a nice position to be in we're still in all
of the competitions you know we don't want to be Manchester City we don't want to be out of
the Champions League or I certainly don't want to be out the Champions League look yeah the
Premier League is my priority without a shadow of it out if I could only win one trophy this season
it would be the Premier League all day long every day it wouldn't even be a hard decision for me I
want the Premier League that much but I still want the Champions League don't get me wrong so it is
it is demanding schedule but that's what success brings absolutely is what success brings especially
over here in England where you know you've got the extra common competition as well it is just what
you've got to deal with and you know Arsenal at the moment a dealing with it so well and have
dealt with it so well to be in the position they're in in all competitions so it is going to be tough
Manchester City I would have preferred have preferred them to stay in the Champions League no doubt
about it I'd have preferred them to be playing Bayern Munich ahead of that game at the Etihad and not
have a week off to prepare for the Arsenal game but it is what it is you can't do anything about it
now just got to focus on Arsenal keep doing what we've been doing and try and get ourselves over
the line so but I do think our test it was obviously got him he's got to manage it he will get
Southampton in the cup competition straight off the international break he will retake heavily for
that game and understandably say and then obviously we'll see what happens in the weeks after that
with with the remaining League games but thank you everyone for your comments thank you for your
questions appreciate them as always I'll be back a little bit later on with James Bench to keep
your eyes peeled for that but until then have a good one and I'll speak to you soon bye bye
